Bungalow Park JAMARCO The bungalows are fully furnished and will sleep 4-6, 9 and 12 people. The bungalow park is in lovely woodland and near the dunes and nature reserve (1800 ha.) The beautiful sandy beaches of Schoorl can be reached on foot or by bicycle easily from the bungalow park. The park just 5 walk minutes away from the centre of the village and the famous climbing-dunes of Schoorl. Distance to: Amsterdam only 50 km, Alkmaar 10 km, Bergen 5km, Egmond 8 km and to Volendam 30 km.There are shops and the beginning of the dunes and the road leading through the dunes to the sea are about 5 minutes from the Parc. The Schoorl dunes cover an area of about 4,500 acres and are about 2 ½ miles wide. (the widest and highest in the whole of the Netherlands), and constitute a unique place for wandering, walking and cycling. There is free access to all of the paths in the dunes. A map of the dunes is available at cost price at the Parc office. There is a nature centre Het Zandspoor where more information about the dunes is available, as does the Tourist Board (V.V.V.) The dunes have their own attraction in the winter months as well, walking or cycling in the snow covered dunes is a special experience. Cross country skiing (langlaufen) and skiing are possible. In Bergen there is an artificial ski slope all year round for skiing and langlaufen. There are several swimming baths and a big lake for swimming and wind surfing within 10 minutes by car from the Parc JAMARCO. There are a number of interesting towns in the locality (about 30 minutes away by car), Amsterdam-Alkmaar-Schagen-Den Helder-Hoorn-Enkhuizen an Medemblik where one can shop or visit the weekly markets. All of these are easily accessible by car. For those wishing for some night life, there are pleasant bars and restaurants in the village centre. For anglers there is good choice of fresh or sea water fishing. There is a bowling rink 10 minutes by car from the Parc. A good way of exploring the surrounding area and the dunes is to hire a bike in the village centre tel. 509 2067. Horse riding is well catered for at the various riding stables and there are about 15 miles of specially made riding routes in the dunes.
